"He's supercharged with elite weaponry!" "Looks to me like he's supercharged with a dozen buckets of fried chicken." - Bulletstorm Holy poo poo that entire game was pretty much perfect. It actively rewards finding as many ridiculous and gory ways to kill people as possible and it's unlikely you'll be able to find a method of slaughter that is awesome but does not give you points for buying ammo and cool murder upgrades. It's basically a 90s-era FPS combined with Wild 9 and it has swearing that will, Insha'Allah, be preserved in the Louvre. e; my point is the whole game is favorite little things

I dunno if it's because I'm a dumb-dumb or what, but as much as I loved Omikron I could never get anywhere at all with it. Maybe I'll grab the GoG version and see if I'm any smarter these days.

So I'm playing the poo poo out of Titan Quest lately, and one of my favorite little touches is how between every zone is a pair of torches which light up when you come near them. It makes it so much easier to know which direction makes progress and which does not, which is great whether you want to rush ahead or explore completely. It's not as consequential as it might be because TQ doesn't have a random map, but when you're new to the game/have forgotten the layouts, it's such a lovely way to unobtrusively guide the player.

Yeah SoM is pretty polished and great, and whilst the Nemesis system is definitely the best part of it, I think it'd still be a pretty highly enjoyable game without it, because it's a solid blend of AssCreed and LotR with some Batmans. Like JebanyPedal says, it's a really smooth experience that cuts a hell of a lot of the bullshit out. Even when you die you're back in the action in seconds. I don't want this from every game, sometimes I do personally like a slower stealth affair, but god drat sometimes is it great to just rip people apart with brutal slices and gently caress over Uruks who are taking a piss.

Wanted MGR: Revengeance for a good while, finally got it in the sales, just like that other guy a few posts ago. Obviously the game is loving brilliant, everything is , but what I really loved when I realized was that you can often chop poo poo off dudes before you can actually kill them, which changes what moves they can use and often makes things easier for you. I also love that, on normal at least, blocking attacks was reasonably forgiving too. It makes you feel like a fuckin' badass when someone throws a whole big combo at you and you parry everything before wrecking their poo poo. The way the music ramps up during boss fights as things get more intense. Only thing I can think of to criticize is that I can't combine a different armor coloration with the Mariachi outfit, and that Raiden always has his default look in cutscenes.

Is Valenwood filled with cannibalistic Bosmer who will put a higher bounty on you for picking herbs than killing someone? And do their cities reside in the boughs of giant ambulatory trees? Morrowind was part of a series still obscure enough to get away with doing whatever the gently caress, which is why they let MK do whatever the gently caress his insane, drunk rear end wanted. And it was glorious. Sadly that very same game made the franchise a big enough concern that they're determined to play things safe. Skyrim wasn't so bad because the Norse setting was just about 'unusual' enough to be interesting and they had stuff that was both awesome and, in lore terms, crazy (Thu'um) so I personally like it quite a bit. Morrowind, on the other hand, is a game where you can meet a living God, decide he's full of poo poo, kill him, and go live with the velothi nomads hunting giant bugs. Oblivion meanwhile was generic fantasy bullshit.

I'm pretty sure I've seen it mentioned in this here thread before but Call of Juarez: Gunslinger is great because it's being told by a narrator and at one point he goes to take a leak, so you just walk through the same train carriage several times until he comes back and can resume his story. The other characters listening to him discuss how truthful he's being in his tales while he's out of the room.

I fondly remember fighting with a friend about whether the Farsight XR-20 should be banned or not. We eventually compromised that we would allow it for occasional Maximum Bullshit matches only. My win rate decreased precipitously after this Also I liked the Callisto NTG a lot, because secondary fire would just shoot through most obstacles like a door or something, so you could pop fools before they can actually fire back at you. Looking back at it I must have been a real prick to play against. The MagSec wasn't a special pistol really, but drat did they do a good job of making that thing feel powerful. Guy Mann posted:Maybe not a little thing but I'm playing this indie adventure game called Knee Deep and the game's aesthetic is loving killer. The gimmick is that it's presented as a stage play so buildings will literally lose their fourth wall, the "actors" walk from set to set with everything raising or lowering around them, text messages are displayed on an overhead projector, spotlights follow people, and when it needs to change backdrop the character will actually step outside of the stage while the entire thing rotates behind them like the Carousel of Progress from Disneyworld. It's really effective, especially considering it's obviously a small team working with a low budget. Okay I'm like 90% sold on this game I had never heard of before your post, drat that looks cool.

Earlier I happened to be looking at some VAs in Overwatch and it turns out that almost everyone is voiced by someone from the character's culture or one very close to it. Furthest one I can remember is that D.va is voiced by a Chinese woman rather than a Korean one, I believe? I thought that was cool of Blizzard to do instead of just getting bad accents in, even if they don't know that "Cheers love!" means "Thank you!" not "Hello" Also I guess Winston is not voiced by someone from the moon.
