I painted my buddy's RX-7 with rustoleum for fun a few years ago. Sorry for potato quality photos, you'll have to trust me that there was zero orange peel or unevenness in the paint. Course, it took over a week working 6-10 hours every day to get it that way, but hey, $82 paint job. 3 coats of primer with sanding in between each coat 4 coats of yellow with wet sanding between 2 coats of satin black for the roof and hood, light sanding. We ran out of money and time to do a clear-coat, so it faded to pale yellow in a couple years. Still looked good though.
