Finished building my computer last night and installed Win 8.1 this morning, problem is i can't for the life of me connect to the internet; keep getting Error 651 every damned time. To rule out any problems with my build i booted from a linux live cd...... connected straight away without a single problem.  Thoughts anyone.

Does your network card show up in Device Manager? Have you installed its drivers? If it's an onboard device, did you install your motherboard's chipset drivers too?
