-no, i've seen it on the internet. theres a way to do CLI kerberos poo poo but im bad at that

-it works via thin/zero clients tho (i think) e: usb passthrough only works for poo poo like thumb drives. it should really be way, way more robust

what i'm saying is

if i flick that checkbox on our mac build

it caches that user's login credentials like you would expect a windows laptop to do by default on our ms domain

that's how we preconfigure our mbps for the handful of people that have them

we don't have an os x server on this side of the firewall

yeah, it does that here, but we can't control the expiry date (or there's some CLI wizardry on some deep buried com.apple.plist somewhere)

I have to use OSX every day and it is super clunky to have to navigate or copy things from folder to folder with it. idk why aple cant make a interface button that goes UP one in the folder hierarchy. in windows its the lil folder w/green up arrow icon. real good button. use it all the time. the mac equivalent is a list of the whole heirarchy but it's like a web browser history so if u open up a really nested folder from a shortcut theres no good way to get to its parent since u didnt travel all the way there from ur desktop. garbage poo poo in tyool2014.

it's a delineation between 'client machines' in purpose, and user desktops. if the users actually have real need for an actual desktop, then they should get one, and forcing a client machine on them doesnt make sense. if it's a rote job that is simply to interact with x, be it internet access or just getting to an old AS/400, , 'thin clients' or full client machines are desirable.

to tldr the poo poo, if the users get insulted by using a client machine then its probably the wrong choice

microsoft still doesn't have a device in the iPad category because the Surface has desktop windows. it seemed stupid to include it, but then again a metro-only surface would sell exactly zero because the platform had so little support. but if they had made a metro-only RT, the platform would be 2 years more mature today (plus whatever they ported over from Windows Phone). so i wonder how bad they regret that now.
