the way software assurance is set up makes the decision to drop it reeeaaall difficult. the cost for particular licenses drops off massively after 3 years, so in the long run it costs a lot less than buying upgrades the agreements don't really scale down at all, only up (ito no of licenses). if you drop sa and then decide to go back on you're back to paying the much more expensive initial prices again.

born on a buy you posted:everywhere I've worked that used lync had it whitelisted to internal ips only. unless you're vpning on your phone constantly an iOS app would be dumb. sounds real dumb i set ours up so it works with ios/android/wp from outside, there's open federation and also federation with skype tbh skype federation is a pain in the dick to explain to anyone (the skype user must have a microsoft account and also there's a weird syntax to the addresses) tho if our company was larger and i had to work with separate teams to get the natting/dns records, certificates and reverse proxy poo poo all done id probably have said fuckit

coulda been cool if there was some sort of wearable type of technology it could talk to and if windows nt ran on devices equipped with low power processors or something vista's greatest culled feature is wmv backgrounds (nobody used it except ppl who pirated windows cause it was a ~~~~~ultimate extra~~~~~~)
