reminder that macs are toys and you are literally of lesser intelligence if you use one. microsoft windows is the standard and everyone should use the standard. windows can do everything ergo there is no need for anything else. all competitors should be banned.

What was it? I tried googling it but just got a bunch of stuff about the disk fix it does when you screw up real bad.

it timed how long the boot took and stored that in a file, the next boot it would read the length of time and set the progress bar to take that much time to go from 0 to 100 no matter what.

here's some more entries from help_i_have_to_use_windows_at_work.txt

After sending one message in Lync, it will add subsequent messages below (as expected). But the space between the first message and the last message is different than the space between the second message and the third message. Why?

Lync will always software mute you when you join a channel. Even if your Mic is muted too. So you are “double-muted” and can get confused about why no one can hear you even though you’ve unmated you mic.

In Lync, right-clicking a user in your user search results gives you an option to favourite them, but clicking the user in your conversation list does not. Clicking their details area in the convo will give you yet a third set of options, including start an IM conversation, even though they are already in one with you. You can expend the options and add the user to contacts, even though they are already a contact. There is yet another button to “View more options for interacting with this person”, but it does not have a favourite option either.

Lync determines whether you’re active or inactive based on mouse movement, but not keyboard activity. So you can be chatting with someone, in Lync, and be “inactive”.

I have 16BG of RAM and Lync can’t even scroll smoothly. The conversation with approx 60 lines (pretty short) will have to load the first previous messages as I scroll up, then load the recent messages as I scroll back down. They are momentarily invisible as I scroll, and the movement is jerky.

yeah but you could be using sametime
