I'm at level 50 right now and I don't even have Robot girl or Seven and I just went into the high tomb. how high do the levels get is this like disgaea where you can breach 200's?

gifts, battling together (chain attacks, helping them up, smth else I don't remember), and accepting quests with the right person in tow also the right choice in heart to hearts I don't remember which one is the best exactly but I'm betting gifts. but rly I wouldn't worry about it because if you wanna craft gems later it's best to have some at low affinity

Ice area looks like a piece of poo poo, between that and prison island they're gunning for worst looking RPG area ever, hell Skies of Arcadia looked better texturewise than those two levels and that was a Dreamcast RPG.

How badly overleveled would someone be if they did 100% of side quests? I stopped doing them like halfway through the game and was barely back down to the expected level when I hit the endgame.

you will lose almost nothing by not doing them. maybe look up the ones that give you extra skill trees but those arent that necessary

Is this game meant to feel like an MMO but kinda not? I mean it's fun so far but exploring and the quests and stuff feel more like an MMO than other games I've played.

Equip Quickstep gems to make you walk faster if you're dead set on finding all the secret areas. For the item collecting easiest way is to save when the item orbs spawn and then save and reload and they should spawn after a minute or so. And yes some collection quests are plain annoying. People will say you don't need to do them, but why put things in a game if people are not meant to do them?
