since no one answered: i ended up using them and so far fixez looks like Good poo poo. i ordered the new screen on sunday night, i had it in hand thursday afternoon and an hour of surgery later my telephonoputermatic is back up and running

unrelated topic, if anyone wants a nexus 4 screen with one slight crack near the top and a broken digitizer let me know, 1280 x 768 pixels at 318dpi, no idea how to interface to it (goon project??) but the screen still works great

trust me get the MX master, i used to use an MX1100 too and that was the best goddamn mouse ever. the performance mouse was uncomfortable and poorly built, the G700 was better but still bleah, but i'm really enjoying the MX master

how does the gesture thing work? do you need to use setpoint to have them work? can you remap the buttons into the mouse itself and go without setpoint entirely?

one of my favorite features on the mx1100 is that i could remap the dpi rocker to be a volume control, but it's dependent on setpoint (which i dont have on my work pc). i think i might really miss that the entire switch would be gone on the mx master, and it sounds like the g700s would not only have the buttons but also allow me to program the remap into the device itself

the battery life is a compelling reason to avoid tho... hmm

no, for crashplan it looks like they only store the ciphertext and don't have the key at all. at the highest setting, you are responsible for it, and if you lose it ur fukd, but the flip side is they don't have it when they get hacked either

ok so looks like there was some registry thingy that got hosed up:

https://social.technet.microsoft.co...w7itprosecurity

quote:

please try to check the following registry key:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate\Auto Update\RebootRequired]
backup all the keys, and delete them. After that, please try to restart your PC again. usually if the windows updates request reboot, it will create a key in this path, maybe this registry key corruption caused this issue.

????? no idea what messed that up for me but im guessing it was loving michaelsoft!! pushing win10 on me to subvert my computing freedoms
