has anyone ever had random bsods related to the mounting screws for the motherboard being loose in a couple of places? there are several reasons why that could have been happening to me (and why i hope its fixed now) but i was just curious if that was A Thing

i recently found that turning one antenna 90 degrees opposed to the other improved throughput by like 10 Mbps on both of our computers. is that A Thing or is it just coincidence

modem + router, every time

sbg6580 is pretty mediocre. firewall sucks (it would always "forget" to forward ports if a device went to sleep). its not dual band so you only get 2.4 OR 5 ghz, not both at the same time.

i just moved into a new place and the same router that reliably got me 100+ mbps before now struggles to hit 20, and no amount of coaxing or fiddling with settings helps. it's MAYBE 15 feet further away from my computers. i blame the huge mirror in the bathroom between the router and the computers :pwn:

i kinda wish i had something so i could set the router up by the ceiling, just to see if it would squeak over the mirror. the computers are on the floor so it probably wouldn't help

i assume my upstairs neighbors have their router on the floor above us. their network is like 10 db stronger than ours lmao

The hum is most likely a ground loop and fancier analog cable will probably not help. If you have a cable modem physically attached to the computer somehow a ground isolator might help.

As for S/PDIF, you may need to assign the coax to an input (video 1 or whatever). You may also need to make the digital output the default in the computer.

I'm prob. going to wait until the 8GB GTX cards come out for my :pcgaming: 4K experience, so none of the above is set in stone.

that cooler is nice but make sure the case is wide enough. it barely fits in my p180 and that's not a tiny case

1kw power supply is probably overkill too, nothing you have there is that power hungry. i would think a decent 600w would be fine, unless you are planning on having a huge raid setup or smth
