Hey, I'm making this post for my mom. There are other forums where this post could've gone but I figure this is probably my best bet for finding an answer. Over the past few months my mom has found herself unable to eat her favorite food, tomatoes, and any other nightshade vegetable such as peppers. They seem to go straight through her, they aren't being digested. She didn't use to have this problem. According to the research she did, it's because her pancreas isn't producing the enzymes needed to process the nightshade in them. She bought this over the counter supplement, Kyp-Dophilus Probiotics plus Enzymes, and the enzymes in it are supposed to help with this problem. Protease, Lactase, Lipase, and Amylase. However, it isn't working for some reason. So I'm hoping one of you culinary folks might know a remedy. Bear in mind, my mom might be entirely wrong on why they're not digesting anymore, but having done some reading on nightshade it certainly seems like the most likely cause.

I say she eat all the tomatoes until she forces her body to comply. Or, you know, try going to a doctor.

If she has problems with other histamine producing foods (green tea, bananas, cultured or fermented foods, lots of other things) try DAOsin or Histame supplements.
