snes9x works fine

zsnes doesn't work well because it turns out windows 8 doesn't hw accelerate dx7 in the way zsnes wants it to.

i hated having to get off zsnes but drat it's been like 10 years since it updated

bsnes tries to emulate the snes exactly so it runs slower than the others.

I don't think a subscription would work because it's like once every other year I think "Hey I want to play Mario world or dkc2" and I just play it for a weekend and then forget about it for another year or so.

I could just emulate them but I don't have a dedicated PC for my main tv and a few bucks is worth skipping the hassle to play it from my couch. I know this makes me a mega contard but oh well I have a job deal with it.
