There was an OP/ED thread somewhere near the beginning of the year, but I think it's been at least a couple years since we've had one of these threads to post some music that pops up during the shows. I haven't been watching very much in the last year or two so I would love to see what recent stuff has been hitting the right notes for people. I don't really have a problem with OP/ED's being posted but I hope the thread doesn't get too clogged up with them. To get things started: Legend of the Galactic Heroes - Galactic Imperial Army War Song One of my favourite shows of all time. I'd love to just link the entire ost but I've always been particularly fond of this theme. Gundam Wing - Using the Cloak of Darkness (1:05 if it doesn't link there) Wing was the first mecha series that I watched, and pretty much my intro to anime in general at the tender age of 11. I still remember the scene this was played in and at the time watching in disbelief ("Oh my god did he just kill all those guys with a laser scythe? Are they even allowed to show that in cartoons?"). With how fresh it felt for being my first "grimdark" show far more than what was floating around at the time I was completely sold on it. Tiger and Bunny - Power for the Future Another one where the soundtrack just fits what was going on so well. Watching the return of Wild Tiger after he was getting hosed the whole episode got me super pumped up. Getter Robo Armageddon- Stoner Sunshine I think this is probably my favourite song that's devoted solely to a special attack. Gurren Lagann - Libera Me From Hell We all know this one is going to show up.

The .hack//Sign anime soundtrack is my absolute favourite overall. It's hard to pick out just a few from it. It may be a slow series, but its use of music is absolutely gorgeous. .hack//sign - Key of the Twilight Emily Bindiger's vocals work well with the atmospheric lyrics, and the violin playing is fun and lively. .hack//sign - B.T. This sad-sounding instrumental track has gorgeous piano and violin playing. Another series with outstanding music is Twelve Kingdoms. You can't go wrong with the soundtracks to this series at all. Twelve Kingdoms - Fuushun This is my favourite track from the series. I'm not sure exactly what the instruments are, but it's primarily a string instrument (maybe an acoustic guitar?), with a wind instrument mixing in later on. It's wonderful every time it's used in the series. Energetic but suspenseful. Twelve Kingdoms - Moon Night Drop This is a more reserved instrumental song, with beautiful erhu playing and piano. The Attack on Titan OST is far better than it has any right to be. Same with the Kill La Kill OST, both are by the same dude.
