yea you had to screw it in but the battery compartments weren't blocked. mine got kind of loose after awhile and the magnifier would tilt inward when we went over a bump in the car. I also had power cords for the car and the wall.

I had one of those snap-on screen setups for my 'cube. It wasn't "portable" per se but if I was gonna have a stable place to set it and play Viewtiful Joe for an hour plus an available power outlet (the screen took up a separate outlet, wow) I could take it along with me. also back on my original Gameboy and my Color I had a light attachment to play in the dark like some kind of imp
