If half life at all why not hl1 instead of 2? First shooter to put you in a realistic cohesive world with 'levels' that connected naturally. World was designed to look like a real place, without medpacs lying around. Story was told through things that happened in front of you, not cutscenes. Puzzles & non-action parts included for pacing.

Hl2 had nifty physics & looked real nice in 2004 & was a good game, but it didnt break ground like the first one. First HL is the mother of all shooter campaigns that arent set in an abstract 'video-game world' where red keycards open red doors.
