Munchkin isn't Monopoly bad, it's just too shallow to hold up for very long. Inevitably there's a huge bottleneck at the end because everyone tries to screw the leader and can. It's good for like one game where you laugh at the goofy cards and art and make insane trades, but I can't imagine going back. I'd never build a night around it.

ImpactVector posted:Zombies!!! is also a terrible screw-the-leader game with the exact same problems as Munchkin, so I'm not sure why you're recommending it here. It has the same problem but not quite at the same severity.

EotE kinda lost me with the line about the game taking place in the "dark and gritty" side of the Star Wars universe. I get thinking Han Solo is the coolest but that's just missing what makes Star Wars what it is more so than the presence or absence of Jedi. Star Wars is Flash Gordon with some Kurosawa and Campbell added. It's not Traveller and it's not military sf. (How much of a military focus does AoR have BTW?)

Thought we had a Paranoia thread but couldn't find it- anyway, there is a New Kickstarter for a New Paranoia, designed by James Wallis with an apparent emphasis on being easier, faster, etc. Gonna be a boxed set with cards and dice and wipe-away character sheets. It looks like it's gonna be focused on "Classic" play but discussion on an RPGnet thread revealed that they may at least try to put some words on running "Straight" games in the Gamemaster material. The thing's already funded with 39 days to go. Not entirely sure how good this will be compared to XP, but I pledged anyway.
