This bike just looks amazing.

They don't have a dealer in my town, but the closest dealer said to check with the victory/polaris dealers in my area because they might do maintenance on the Indians as well being owned by Polaris.

558 lbs, over 60 mph in 2nd gear (6 speed gear box), 26" seat height, 100 hp, 72 ft/lbs torque, did I mention its gorgeous?

It is only around 40 mpg combined highway road... 3.3 gallon tank...

I think if my local Victory/Polaris dealer will offer maintenance I might just have to get one this fall.

Pretty good for a cruiser! From the threads I've read I don't think anyone has one yet. Get a test ride and tell us about it.

Well, I have to go to Tulsa, OK to get a dealer near me. I'm in Wichita, KS, so its quite a trip...

but it seems like just the bike for me.

I'll have to check my vacation time to head out there but I might just do it. If my local dealer is willing to do work on it. I'll contact them tomorrow and report back.

[edit] looks like about a 3 hour drive to get to the dealer. Would probably want to get a trailer and tow it home? Is it possible to safely break in a bike on the highway? Just switch max speed and gears every few minutes?

I would have a tough time buying a bike that doesn't have a dealer network around me. Also it's not ideal to break in a bike on a highway, but I suppose if it's pretty empty and you could speed up and down through the gears and rev band the whole time that would make it ideal.

If you really love it go get it though, YOLO.

I went gaga over this in an earlier post. I showed up for their local debut and intended to test ride it, but it was an escorted group ride of 20 or so bikes all the way up the range and I opted out. Trying to maintain formation and not have Homer panic brake you into a $25K bike ain't what I had in mind, nor do I want any guff from Jeffy in the high viz vest when I wring it out.

It's still nice, but I didn't take the First Run bait, as tempting as a 5 year warranty sounded. At first blush, it's a lot lower than I expected it to be, given the pics indicating gobs of ground clearance.

The bike is sold out in my entire tristate area. The nearest dealer is in New Jersey, and has pre-sold every single one they are supposed to receive this year. Good luck test driving one anytime soon. Hopefully the craze will calm down sometime next year.

I plan on going over to the dealer just to see one in person.

A friend of mine went and test drove one at a dealership in Hattiesburg, Mississippi and said it was drat near the most comfortable and smoothest ride he'd ever had. He also said he'd jump at the chance to buy it if he had a spare 15 grand burning a hole in his pocket. He doesn't have 15 grand burning a hole in his pocket, so you can extrapolate what happened there.

Good to hear. 15 is a long way from 11 msrp on a bike that really needs no extras, I wonder how they got to that number...unless it's the total cost of a finance package.

15k? The MSRP is like 10,999.. 11,999 if you don't want shiny black.

AS I said... the dealer (in oklahoma, 3 hours from me), said that the local victory/Polaris dealer might be willing to work on them. I need to contact my shop and see. Apparently Polaris owns' the Indian Motorcycle brand.

10.9 MSRP
1.5 dealer prep
1.3 delivery/title/license
Tax
Financing
= 15kish

If the bike is selling well good luck getting it for MSRP out the door.

Not to mention if you want the extra seat, matching luggage, and any of the other dealer upgrades.

Title and license is like 100 bucks tops. Everything else is pure dealer profit.

The Bolt and CB1100 were hot potatoes the first 3 months after release as well. Both a available for near invoice 1.5 years later. I was offered a brand new 2013 CB1100 for 8550 out of the door this summer. MSRP is $10,995

Give a year or two, watch some kinks get ironed out and pay bottom dollar.

So I rode a couple of hours out to the Indian dealership in Hattiesburg, Mississippi to take part in the demo rides they were offering this weekend. That's the Scout I got to ride around town. Holy hell, I wish I could afford that machine.
