Someone who's already underway in 2 please tell me there are fewer (or preferably no) QTEs that just kill you outright because you weren't psychic enough to know the cutscene required spontaneous participation. AFAIK, there are no insta-death QTEs in Bayo 2, just the pummel QTEs. Austrian mook posted:For the first Bayonetta, what does easy (automatic) mode mean? I'm getting crushed on Normal. I'm on around chapter V and I really just can't beat it. I'm not using any items, maybe that's the issue? I never needed them in any other Platinum game I've played so I don't really wanna use any here. It means holding down the attack button will make Bayonetta perform a string of combos automatically, with no need for directional imputs or pauses combos and poo poo. It's easy easy mode. Just use the items - that's what they're they for, until you become more familiar with stuff. What part exactly are you finding difficult? Austrian mook posted:Also what does the left trigger do? It seems to cycle through 2 different types like modes in DMC or something but I don't remember it ever getting explained. I was waiting for a tutorial or something but it still hasn't brought it up. Changes the weapon loadout. You have to set the weapons yourself first though, in the weapons menu.

Austrian mook posted:I couldn't beat the second fight with the red woman (i forget her name, Jeanne?). I've been relying pretty heavily on witch time to beat most of the enemies, can you even hurt the two claw dudes without it? Oh, I have other weapons? Are those the things I get from the CD's? Don't I need to buy them first? Grace and Glory? They're real bastards the first time everyone plays. It's possible to beat everyone really, without witch-time. The hardest difficulty actually disables it. It's kinda crazy. Oh yeah, Jeanne. Listen out for her attacks - she'll always give some signal for what she's going to do, like when she uses her own wicked weaves; best advice is to equip Shuraba - the sword, get in close, and never be afraid to dodge. Use items if you're really struggling. There's no shame in it. You have to find the LPs first, Rodin will give the weapon to you automatically when you visit the Gates of Hell. It's bad labelling, but the weapons he "sells" to you, are just so that you can equip another set. So having shotguns on both arms and feet at the same time for example.

BottledBodhisvata posted:Did it really sell that poorly? Do we have sales figures for it? No definites at the moment. VGChartz lists it as 0.34 million (global), but they never cite their sources, and are generally not reliable. The only other figures floating around are from some website saying the Japanese sales for the first three days of release (mid September); just under 39,000. However, another Japanese site is listing it as having sold 29,000 instead. More Bayo stuff would be cool, but I wouldn't hold my breath. I'm just glad that there's even a sequel. Yorkshire Tea posted:So I just got this game and have very limited experience with Bayonetta 1. I'm five chapters in and I get the dodge->Witch Time->Murder enemy horribly thing but I don't get much more about the mechanics. There's a useful technique called Dodge Offset, that will allow you to continue your combo without restarting it, after performing a dodge. Yoshesque's video is super informative on it; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NOVVmm4KOm4 A guy called Saur is also in the process of making an explanative series on the games mechanics in general: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lqzztvoVngY Pesky Splinter fucked around with this message at 15:48 on Dec 24, 2014 |

I have a menu of a bunch of lolipops and other poo poo than I can buy with AA points or with Halos, but I can't find my way out of this menu. How do I get on with the game? If you don't want to buy anything (or lack the points to buy anything), you have to exchange them for halos.

I'm still surprised that Loki is only playable in one brief section. I mean, he has his own capoeira-style moveset (and throwing cards). Maybe it's an issue of his model being that much smaller than the others?
