There is a reason why so many American expatriates think Japan is wonderful--until they have a daughter at which point they head straight back to America. Japanese women have far more limited career opportunities, are expected to take care of house, children, and often both sets of elderly parents, etc. Needless to say, a lot of Japanese women decide that maybe getting married to a Japanese person isn't such a good idea.
