Some games do this and then you have the problem of actually finally needing one of those things and having to go through a Manhattan phone book of crap looking for the one useful item from hours ago that you may have misremembered the name of

That sounds like a pain in the rear end I think I'll just carry around 7000+ items, periodically stopping to unload a few so I can add a new cool-looking/higher-value thing to the heap
