Well, there is still Quake 3, Quake Live classic mode, the Quake 3 ripoff games, Warsow, and Quake 2 and QuakeWorld, but no one plays those OP... So unfortunately... Your right. Sorry. Farewell FPS genre.

Tribes: Ascend was really good but then Hi-Rez decided that they'd rather make another horseshit dota game instead of devoting any resources at all to maintaining their successful, finished game.

There are still some good games that use the first person perspective (e.g. Stalker, EYE), but there are no new good classic-style FPS games anymore and I doubt that will change soon.

I usher you back to a time, when Halo was supposed to be a PC release. From a company making loving Marathon, I had high hopes. Microsoft decided to develop a console and Halo became a console only title. All the actual awesome features got taken away, and a lovely ballpiss assgaping shield simulator was born. gently caress you Microsoft. I am bitter as gently caress. Water it down, buttchuggers.
