I think it should. When I was younger and retarded I used it a few times but even then I realized it sucked. If that qualifies me for the death penalty, then I am willing to take one for the team.

I had to google it because I don't know emulator video filters by heart like the OP.

Use whatever you like. I don't care.

there are certainly better filters OP, but for a while it was the only one on the block, and it got people interested in making better upscale filters

i guess i should amend that it's ok for textures in 3d games, but is entirely unacceptable for emulating sprite based games

Let me take you for a ride.
Agreed, pixels should be as sharp and close to the original as possible, anything less is a disservice to the artists.

I had french channels when I lived in Maine and they had stripper infomercials, and a show called uhhhh, well I can't remember it anymore but it had upper body nudity things and was like a sex-themed attack of the show type thing, when I was a kid. It started with "no" I think.

Anyways, it was very epic and I gained popularity by spreading the news about channel 16 after dark.

There's no "non" at the beginning actually, now that I've looked it up. Sorry for this digression, as well.

emulating DQ9 without a filter and a big screen is total rear end. this kind of stuff makes the 3D games look better and less extremely pixelated but 2D games look like loving rear end

filters on sprite based games are unacceptable.

And yet they're the default option for most remastered games.

Filtering's good if it's used to recreate something like composite artefacts.
