I can't believe I was only in fifth grade when RuneScape 2 was released.

I just can't stay back in it, primarily because of the grand exchange not existing or as of today existing but really weird and not like the real grand exchange. GE is just way too useful for my style of play. So for me 07scape happens to be crystallized at the time most annoying for me, basically.

When I want to go old school, I log in to Runescape Classic and fart around a bit. It's great other than having to make basically everything myself because the server population is rarely over 100 and I don't have too much coins anyway.

It's interesting for me especially because I never had members' until long after RSC was locked off, and as such all my members' skills in it are from new training.

Think of things in terms of not just effort, but in terms of effort to reward ratio. Carrying high alch runes takes two inventory slots, is not much effort, and gives you a steady source of income that will , as shown by goon science when people bank ALL of their slayer loot, add up to tens of millions of gold over the course of your slayer career. It's also a little extra magic xp, which never hurts.

Also, you want to level all your combat styles reasonably evenly imo, so you're never stuck with a task that's weak to the style you're terrible at.

Also also if you make use of your bank presets to load up on your gear, food, pots, high alch runes, and whatever else you need (charm imp, herbicide, and bone crusher are all ridiculously good) then you'll take out most of the effort of high alching while you slayer. And you can when pubs are too dumb to alch their drops and literally hand you cash money by leaving poo poo on the ground.

I alch using an explorers ring and alchemist ammy instead

I do medum solo for all my lower levels, I always fully exhaust all the resources when doing so.

All my buttons have been pushed by all the traders constantly
undercutting fair deals and prices and making under the table deals,
purposely stealing my miners and so called smiths who instead of
working their way up to the top through hard work and real effort are
just befriending high level smiths to get them to make them the best
rune items possible so they can sell them for steel and therefore
avoid all the trouble of smelting and slowly gaining funds by selling
the items they can produce. Its been a long time coming but my
buttons have been repeatedly pushed over the last month or so and I
feel that alot of people have actually done this on purpose. Gone is
the day of the true smith who mined and smelted and smithed their
ores and sold what they made. Even buying coal and iron ore and
smelting your own steel or iron bars is frowned on by these new
smiths. A new age has dawned on RS where pride in your smithing level
is of no importance and the only important factor is getting to high
level smithing the fastest and easiest way possible. Looking down the
lists I see very few smiths left who smith for the love of smithing.
Its all about money now. Its about file sharing or getting funding
from players who have dooped large amounts of cash or convincing
another smith to make you large amounts of items that you can trade
for steel. Its not about smithing anymore or being a high level
smith. I will admit that I have gotten very rich from smithing but
the fact of the matter is that it was never about money. I have only
taken advantage of the situation as it was when I got there but never
once did I think I would even profit from smithing. I had planned on
keeping items relatively rare just as all the rest of the smiths
before me had done, but with people like Amazonia and Zezima
promising to freesmith everything very soon there was no reason to do
so.

Long ago when Bluerose first freesmithed addy kites I was upset and
actually quit smithing for 2 and a half months, but when I came back
to smithing a few words she had written in a post long ago remained
with me and inspired me to continue smithing in the face of undue
hardship. "Smith for the love of smithing, to better yourself and
your level in the game". That is why I continued smithing... and
realistically I feel thats the same reason everyone works hard for
any skill level in RS. For pride not profit. With the current state
of smithing nowdays I see no reason why this skill should be any
different from the rest.

Therefore I have decided I will now freesmith all rune items for
anyone who so desires. I am placing a limit of 1 item (2h Kite,
Battle axe) per person and the name of the person requesting such
item will be taken down. These items are for personal use by the
players and I will not smith another item for that person again. Also
if I see that the person already has such item I will not smith for
them either. Note you must have the proper amount of Rune bars. No
smelting will be done whatsover, and if im not at the anvils dont ask
me to smith for you because you will be ignored. The same with
pestering and bothering me when im training or working some other
skill. Please dont bother me or start begging me to run to the anvils
because I wont. I will try and take care of everyones smithing needs
to the best of my ability and thats all I can do.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I really have no idea what
one of these "true smiths" are. Most people would agree with him
because they like the idea that he is smithing free. I don't put
myself before my ideals. I think that the reason to gain experience
is to help other runescape players and make the game funner for all.
