I could watch these two for hours, I don't know how mugumogu ever gets anything done.

One day after school, I was sitting putting a puzzle together when my brother walks in and dumps a tuft of scratchy feathers on the back of my neck. He had found an abandoned baby bulbul on the sidewalk and decided it needed to come home with him. It was the fugliest little thing, eyes barely open and covered in pinfeathers. Then it started growing up.

He named it Ironbeak after a character in his books, but my mom shortened it to IB. When IB entered his rear end in a top hat teen years, he started taking to higher places when we weren't feeding him and would clack his beak at us if we tried to approach him. I got bit once or twice too. My parents found it hilarious. He eventually escaped through the windows at the top of our house and we found him outside in our guava tree courting another young bird with what we presumed to be her dad screeching his head off at IB. Godspeed, you little fucker, hope you had lots of little baby rear end in a top hat birds. :3:

I love stories like these. :3: There's an Ironbeak in one of the Redwall books, is that where he got the name from?

Oh, I bet the shedding is a nightmare.

Also Youtube suggested I watch this video again, and I think the thread would appreciate it too. Never fails to cheer me up.

This channel is pretty adorable. I'm still not sure if it's a farm or what, but it's by a lady with a whole bunch of cute critters. Some exotic ones too. Properly responsible though, not tigers in the back yard sort of thing

Lorne is a very handsome wolf. (there's some videos when he was a puppy as well) or is it cub with wolves? Wolf puppy is more fun to say.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o7nvyXFsyf8
There's also Pancake who is a cat and Sugar Tree, who is a Doberman (I love that name)

Also camels and emus and ostriches and lambs and all sorts of other things. It's a wide selection of :3:.

fake edit: oh, go on then, here's a Lorne as a wolf puppy video. Really you should go have a look at the channel.

Does anyone want a Peregrine nest cam? Three eggs this week, so it'll be a while before babies I think, but these two are pretty cute on their own. Bird expert reckons there'll be a fourth some time later this week.

If you look now, one of them is having a snooze. :3:

I think, anyway. Not sure about bird body language but that looks like a snoozin' critter to me.

It's been a little while since I visited the shelter, but I had a little free time today, so I stopped by to say hi. They have a few new faces there, so I thought I'd share them.

This is Tuna Fish. He was waiting patiently in the back, having just had a haircut

This is Captain America, so named because he was the only survivor of his litter, and a scrawny little kitten who grew up to be big and strong. He's having his bad eye removed tomorrow, but is in otherwise good health, so he should be just fine

Here are Apollo and Nyx, relaxing in their little hammock.

The biggest change, however, was the influx of tiny kittens! They have all sorts;

Piling kittens

Climbing kittens

Kittens that haven't figured out that food goes in the mouth, not on the face

And even a 3-week-old stray that came in with her mom

This shelter is just full of lovely cats.

And antigravity kittens. :3:

This is her favorite spot. I sleep on that side and she refused to move last night so I said gently caress it and nudged her over. She curled up next to me and stayed that way all night and moved only to boop my nose when I turned over to make sure I wasn't leaving.

She was very quiet yesterday and is now getting mouthy when she feels like I haven't been looking at her enough, which is about every 30 seconds.

I love torties. :3: Never had one but I just love the colouring and how grumpy they look.
