Went to visit my aunt this week and got to meet her giant floofy Maine Coon Kevin. He's a friendly guy. He grabbed my hand and wouldn't let go.

Choco1980 posted:As far as I understand it, science has determined that "cute factor" in babies encourages nurturing from the parents, so yes, in essence, this is probably a little true. They theorize based on fossils that many dinosaur species recognized "cute" as well, and took care of their young Also, I've heard that llamas can't tell that goats aren't baby llamas, and constantly keep protecting them. I remember one of the dinosaur shows I watched as a kid had a segment on Maiasaur, which means "mother lizard", named because they nested in groups and hung out raising the babies together. Dawwww

The best thing about cats attacking things is when their claws hook onto them and the cat freaks out at the sight of the thing that was stationary suddenly lunging at them.

Also spreads disease to humans and constantly disrupts the cubs' sleep, which they need just like human babies do, and when they're not on display they're being carted around on trucks. This is not cute so it does not belong but since everybody's complainin', I have survived three (3) summers in Phoenix without air conditioning in my car, doing 20 minute drives to work. I have got in the habit of bringing an extra set of clothes to work and taking whore baths before changing in order not to be funky. It is generally around 120° in the car during drives. I have also done canvassing work and blacksmithing in the dead of summer, and during my first month of living here (September, 115°) I locked myself out of my car with the keys sitting on the front seat so I had to stand guard while I waited for a locksmith. I am a pale Nordic chick. You do get used to it. Your blood thins and you just don't feel it so much. I would never be able to get used to the cold after this. gently caress snow. Still, I see people jogging or wearing a ton of clothes while working construction and I think, how do they do that?? Here is a mighty dragon
