Something I missed in my previous 'darkroom mode' GIFs is that there's a chunk of gamma applied by f.lux, which my conversion technique wasn't taking into account. It gave the previous GIFs a pleasantly stark quality, but that starkness hid the lovely contrast that led me to choose to process this image in the first place. But why talk about it when I have a couple thousand words' worth of pictures to use? Here's the un-gammaed version:  And a version where I applied a hunk of gamma:  In this case, I prefer the latter.

Here's the 'no time to watch it again' version of Jurassic Park: I figure I'll work through my movie collection bit by bit, or until I get bored. If anyone has a request, feel free to make it! (Interestingly, despite Gfycat saying there's a maximum length of 15 seconds for stuff, they don't have any problem hosting these 40-second GIFs. Maybe because the frame rate is fairly low?)
