Firefox is a 32-bit application and I hit the 2-gigabyte limit daily. It will just stop rendering poo poo or just freeze, pegging 1 core of the processor. It either being 64-bit or having multiple processes would help, but it has neither yet, so.

Yeah, my problems might actually have come from running adblock and ghostery. I disabled them and installed ublock and it seems that the memory situation is better.

Well, the data formats are standardized, you would "only" need to make a parser that can edit the motion vectors And no, I was no talking about gif loops, I was talking about this, where the same motion is repeated in concurrent frames.  Also I know of "scene changing" daamoshing too, I was not talking about that either:  That other gif looks like this gif, only "exaggerated"
