As a kid we had one of those Reader's Digest Mystery books, and it had a bit about The Faces of Belmez which had photographs that really freaked me out, I'd dare myself to look at them and then slam the book shut. Just look at them!

My dad has this book

I read it so many times when I was a kid. It's full of crazy stuff from scientific futuristism, myths and paranormal stuff.

This image creeped me out as a kid

Yeah that's the one!! And I actually have it right here, by my bed.

V edit- I guess it was mandatory in the Eighties for grandparents/parents to have it. V

This was another picture (maybe in that book but also one at school) that used to wreck my poo poo as a kid. It looks kind of goofy now (And here is death posing at the Newby Altar!) but my god it creeped me out.

That's a pretty decent costume.

it's my friend's kid, I made this for her as a spoof. It would be funny to find it passed around as real.

I seem to recall (about 20 years ago) a prop website that made real-looking skeletons and dried cadavers to order. If I remember correctly, this was from their online catalog/showcase.

Oh gently caress yeah! I remember that site. What on earth was it?

Eta: think this is it, it certainly looks like a 20 year old website
