Its not the best, but the Samuel Whittemore episode does have the funniest exchange I've ever heard. "Hey, are you gonna retire?" "gently caress NO, RETIRE'S GONNA ME!"

While we're almost complaining, is anyone else on earth as trusting of spell-check as Dave is?

For anyone who knew Dave Anthony from before Walking The Room, did he always say oval office a lot or did that grow alongside his love of Australia? I refuse to believe there's no correlation. If you have a graph of oval office vs. Oz, post it.

No, that guy was Charles Guitteaux(sp?). Jack Parsons was the rocket scientist who tried to summon demons by coming on things.

You're not wrong, and I wonder how many people DA blocked for mentioning that when the episode came out.

InequalityGodzilla posted:I thought he was one of the best guests they've had on. Maybe not as good as Oswald, and the ooooohhhh creepy music gag overstayed it's welcome a bit, but those aside I thought he had good comedic chemistry with Gareth and Dave. I'd like to see him on again. I liked the creepy music gag callbacks. It was the Bond villain laughter that I hated every time after the first.

InequalityGodzilla posted:The callbacks were pretty great, it was when he first started doing it and crammed it in like a dozen times over 3-4 minutes that annoyed me, mainly. As for his laughter I didn't really notice anything odd/annoying about it. Certainly not like that one guy from the Daily Show that they had on, his laugh was like taking a cheese grater to your ear. To be clear, I don't mean Rory's own laugh, I mean the "That's how I breathe" bit he kept doing. I liked him as a guest overall, but that thing was awful.

I'm not a huge fan of when bits go on too long and clog up the pace, and I feel like when accents are involved that's almost guaranteed to happen. Specifically, there's one episode where Dave says "that means he has a Scottish accent" and then there's just a too long sequence where Gareth does his not-great accent with no real jokes. Can't really speak to being offended by it, but I won't be too upset if they stop. Voices peaked with Michael Malloy anyway.

Speaking of which, Andrew Wakefield would be an interesting Dollop. I dunno if it'd be especially funny, but they've done a few 'righteous anger' topics before. And I know he started in England but you fuckers made him a movie.
