man you guys don't know what old is i still have an old apple //e with a three position firmware switch that doesn't buy me anything except another bunch of lovely graphics mapped to pre-Unicode byte codes it plays a mean game of wings of fury with the Hayes joystick i still have to calibrate every two weeks plus an old CP/M Z80 coprocessor and a 132 column card and a novation apple cat whose only function these days is to decode touch tones Binary Badger fucked around with this message at 20:15 on Nov 30, 2014 |

one of my old yobs was to help convert paper tape to some modern format for a local branch of the US Passport office wound up settling for comma / tab delimited text files because it was the most 'future-proof' (not my decision)

Binary Badger posted:one of my old yobs was to help convert paper tape to some modern format for a local branch of the US Passport office yeah tbh any human-readable format is going to be the most future-proof, and ascii is about as universal as it gets. this sounds like the right decision it's not like the passport office is bottlenecking because their computers can't process the data fast enough A Wheezy Steampunk posted:lime is darker than i remember then there was also a "key lime" that was more fluorescent but only the ibooks came in that color. the photo is pretty dark fwiw
