I think a lot of Sony's weirder advertising was very intentionally inciting controversy similar to Bennetton advertising in 80's and 90's.  Its still obviously a hilariously dumb move for a video game company of all things.

The talk a couple pages back about the weird rear end print adverts that gaming companies loved to put out reminded me of this thing. In case you can't read that, the text in the corner repeats "I will not mate outside my species". So umm buy a Sega Dreamcast so you too can gently caress a fish?

The first time he tried to run these ads he wore a fake Supeman outfit, resulting in a fair bit of legal trouble. Since I cant find the original ad heres him being interviewed in the costume.
