I don't know why people are so down on Nemesis. You know how in Alien movies some of the characters make bad decisions that get them killed? The game perfectly recreates that experience. As in, if you bought the game, you made a bad decision.

Don't know if that's what Llyranor meant, but for me, kinda yeah. There's way too many Lovecraft games, feels like it's become this decade's 'zombies' theme. I got the one good one, that's all I need (also 3ed for when I want to play it in a bigger group).
Yup, that's me too.

Don't care for the theme for the other games, but the balance of deck construction and narrative campaign in Arkham LCG is just top notch

I played King of Tokyo with my nephews and they did love it. Actually, they loved it so much that playing it for hours multiple days in a row is now one of my boardgaming circles of hell.

I like the theme of Robinson Crusoe. However, I find the amount of randomness relative to the complexity/fiddliness of the rules a significant flaw. You'll be wasting a lot of time learning and memorizing the rules, only for some scenarios to decide on a 50:50 card draw whether you encounter a very trivial event, or whether it'll leave your entire party near-dead at the beginning of the 2nd round. It can be a fun game, but I'm not convinced it's a well-designed one.

Those bashing KDM are missing the big picture. The important news is that the tasteful big boobies pinups are available in the KDM store now!!!!! KDM is so great!!!!! Wearing a KDM pinup is a mandatory requirement at our game night table as proof that we are all good taste havers.

Have a look at the pinups art on the KDM store, and if you still have a neutral or negative view of the game, I will strongly judge you.

Edit: I won't post pictures here because I don't know if it's allowed. Not everyone can fully appreciate tasteful art.

I was just (unnecessarily) trying to highlight the absurdity of someone writing a long wall of text showing their extensive research on how the game definitely doesn't depict sexual violence when it's right there in everyone's face.

That they wrote "Oh it’s totally sexual, just not a depiction of assault" should be all that needs to be known about the KDM defender.

No more boardgame purchases for me for a while.

I'm just waiting for Sleeping Gods and Tides of Ruin to arrive at some point in 2022 (order is just waiting on the expansion reprint).

I should also be getting Aeon's End: Legacy of Gravehold next month. That might possibly be my last crowdfund ever. In hindsight, I never really needed to kickstart anything ever.

I’m personally okay with buying non-Phil Elkund games from Ion, because it will give them more power over him to reign his screeds back in. Come contract re-negotiation time, the less Ion are reliant on his games, the more power they’ll have to get what they want, or just let him go. If all their games are suffering equally, they aren’t going to have that clear incentive to pivot away from the games that are selling poorly or damaging the brand.
The company has been absolute cowards in their handling of Phil, so they'll never see a dime from me. His topics while employed at Ion:
-downplaying the pandemic
-his wife got arrested for protesting tyranny (sanitary measures), which is like what would have happened under Hitler
-he is the brave designer who was able to successfully gameify rape as a game mechanism
-it was thanks to capitalism that slavery was abolished
-the real slavery is socialism
-overt transphobia
-did you know that the Holocaust happened because of "bankers"?
-Hitler was racist, but he must have had his reasons

Also, to see how much clout Ion has without the Eklund name, their KS Dawn on Titan didn't hit a single stretch goal.

"the widespread hostility against middlemen minorities is not due to religion, race, or creed"

Yeah, they just really hated bankers. Which is why they rounded up all the jewish bankers, all the LGBTQ bankers, all the bankers who had various physical or intellectual deficiencies, etc.

Eklund whitewashes millenia of antisemitism which led to the 'banker' stereotypes and downplays nazi hate ideology.

I sleeved all of The Crew and Mission Deep Sea and they fit the box, but yeah, from a functionality perspective, you don't need to sleeve the small cards of either game at all.
