They did announce a 5.5" 1080p phone with a 3630 mAH battery. So that's nice. Moto X Play is a snapdragon 615. The Moto X is 5.7" qhd phone with a 3000 mah battery with the snapdragon 808

Well I mean you'll have to go get a sim card but yeah it should work fine barring verizon being dumb (since they're advertising it'll work on all four networks verizon probably won't be dumb). Also AT&T is increasing the "Bring your own device" fee so that's a thing.

I went AT&T Infuse -> GSM Gnex (Europe unlocked import or something) -> HTC One M7 and I've been fine with everything battery life wise though I did go kinda crazy with the Infuse with custom builds/whatever. Though the HTC One is a little banged up now and there's a speck of dirt stuck in the camera. Looking at the Moto X Pure and the new 5ish inch Nexus.

Might be dumb router issues. Not wireless, just the router in general. Otherwise I dunno that's some bad luck. Is this with plex or something? Plex will sometimes become disconnected but that's more my phone just shoving plex out of running apps for the fun of it.

Nexus Player is hit or miss and sometimes has worse problems than the chromecast (with casting at the very least) and the extra money thrown at a Nvidia Shield ends up being worth it then even if it costs like $250ish for it + remote.

Guys guys guys. It could be worse. You could be stuck on a HTC One M7 whose notification pane doesn't even pull down unless you are in landscape mode. On a related note if anyone picks up a S7 or LG G5 let me know what they think. I need a new phone. Not really interested in a Nexus 6p 'cause that dumb snapdragon 810 thing. Even if it's a dumb reason to discount a phone.

SIR FAT JONY IVES posted:Is there a place to buy unlocked Samsung phones in the US that is like Motorola's store, and gives you a couple years free financing like Moto and the various carrier programs? No. I mean you could I guess buy the phone without a contract but it will still be locked to X carrier. I think it technically is unlocked until you put that carrier's SIM into there but odds are the carrier will already do that before you get the phone. You can buy an unlocked variant from the UK but that will have no warranty since it is an international phone.

Smythe posted:Google Contacts are insanely hosed up. I especially like in Hangouts (which I use as an old GVoice port and now a Fi subscriber, to have sync'd chats across all devices I have on my Google account including Desktop) there is no good way to search contacts. Typing in a name pulls down literally every human on earth to text and sometimes mysteriously omits the only one you want, if you initiated the conversation as SMS and don't have them in Hangouts proper. It is intensely fail and always has been. The hangouts Chrome App and also the hangouts.google.com are also hosed up and mentally ill. I have no idea what their deal is. You have to scroll through your chats to find the one you want. The old voice.google.com worked loving great so I can't fathom the hangup. Fun. Solved my problem for the most part. They hid "customize contacts to display" under the contacts apk when you're on all contacts. It won't show up in the dialer when you're on all contacts though. You have to use your groups instead of just showing everything in my contacts. I guess you also have to organize those in contacts.google.com too. Workarounds are better than nothing I guess. edit: Nevermind that doesn't actually fix it on the dialer only in contacts itself. I'll figure this out later or just return this and get something else.
