but Machida doesn't have a ton of power per se, he uses his opponent's power against them half the time and the other ones are accuracy and timing. 1 hit KO power is like what JDS was doing for a couple of years in a row

it's about the only fight that makes sense because the winner of Yoel/Jacare should be up next for the title shot and Rockhold/Machida was supposed to be this main event in the first place. Otherwise the rest of UFC's middleweight division is either A) guys coming off of a loss, B) guys Machida already beat, C) Anderson Silva who Machida will probably never fight.

So yeah, Rockhold vs Machida next year is basically the only fight to make unless some other guy makes a huge statement before then.

I guess I shouldn't have said power but finishing ability instead, meaning timing + power + accuracy. Some fighters have more straight up horsepower, but Lyoto can put you down with one hit from pretty much anywhere.

It's his timing. He hit Bader with a fairly short punch but the way everything was set up it was like running into a telephone pole.

that sucks for CB though. He had a lot of momentum going into this fight, flew out to a press conference where he didn't say a word for 2 hours, did a whole training camp, first main event, and it took 1 kick in the first minute to end it.
