WarpedNaba posted:That's... pretty bad. It's about the same as EU average (better for men actually, I blame US teetotalers) and eg. slightly above socialist Denmark, which in some studies has been regarded as the happiest nation in the world. We should do as the Danes do, they drink alot! The deviation between most non-warring countries that have a modern infrastructure (eg. sanitation) and aren't in eastern Europe is not big, but then you start noticing countries where the difference between male and female life expectancies is more than 10 years...

Thanks for posting those tribute cartoons. I don't expect anyone ever to overcome Chuck Asay's "Norwegians then [yikes!] --- Norwegians now [yikes, is that a gun?]" cartoon. I hope I'm right.

Just that allowing tragedy to cover up the fact that these cartoons are vile and are a part of a larger problem in French society is just falling into an easy narrative about terrorism and anti-muslim thought. You're helping that narrative yourself by slandering people who were murdered by madmen for no reason at all.

No one here says they actually deserve to be killed for their cartoons, but holding them up as a great free speech hero of America is... well it give off some implications I think most people here would disagree with. None of the victims of Anders Breivik actually deserved to be killed for being socialists, but they were no angels.

"Draw!"? That's much coming from Catalino. I totally refuse to believe that Catalino drew that scene without copy-pasting or tracing any elements, but I couldn't find a match in previous Catalino cartoons so the jury is still out... in the meanwhile I did find a bunch of tank cartoons, so let's have a look! 1. Kind of topical, except I don't know why Obama is chasing the UK mechanized democracy with a knife? 2. That's a fairly good Merkava drawing, actually. Not sure why there should be a chair on top of the turret, though, especially when Merkava can carry passengers inside its hull? 3. Sorry Israel, Obama switched side. 4. Tsk, tsk. Russians don't use rifled cannons in their tanks. 5. Ugh what a terrible design, Bok. 6. That's a really cute mini-Abrams, actually! 7. Hooray, a funny image and a good opinion! 8. Hooray, a... disturbing image and... what the heck? 9. Henry Payne, a known car enthusiast, also loves his tanks. 10. Henry Payne, a known car enthusiast, also loves his tanks. 11. To be honest I absolutely miss Stephanie McMillan, she's one of those so goddamn crazy people that aren't just faking it for money but is consistently insane and her art style is both interesting and hilariously stupid most of the time. It's also a guilty pleasure because on principle I agree with her views but the conclusions she makes and the way she expresses them alienates me.

This makes me feel so angry. Racism doesn't necessarily even require hating anyone, it can simply mean a view where all people are categorized according to race or ethnicity or culture which then defines them more than any other traits. Eg. black people are good at basket ball and Germans are well organized.
