State of Affairs is something i've been watching to fill the espionage gap left by The Blacklist's midseason break.

Tonight's episode, at least IMO, caused State of Affairs to go from "Hahahahaha, oh boy. Jeez." to "Ehhhhhhh?". It's actually gotten....better? It's still awful, but now the story is going somewhere and it's on a grander, less terrible scale.

More happened in the first two hours of the second season than 85% of the first season. A lot of big historical names introduced to the cast.

Yeah, and when they were showing reruns in the winter, they changed the name, too. I guess people were flipping through the channels and something called TURN in all caps wasn't exactly giving them a good idea of what the show was about. Though it's not just cosmetic; the new season does indeed feature a metric shitload of spying by people associated with George Washington.

And Benedict Arnold slowly turning into the world's biggest piece of poo poo will apparently be a major part of this season.

Reminder: FX's Tyrant comes back next week on the 16th for Season 2, and Syfy's Defiance starts it's 3rd season tomorrow night (2 hour premiere).

Hopefully in season 2 of Tyrant, some actual tyranny is displayed.

Deutschland 83 is a fun new show with tons of actual spycraft, but it's wig game is basically nonexistent. If it featured a stronger wig game, I think there'd be more critical chatter about it.

All the previews i've seen have shown a NYC that has gone to poo poo because of the growth of the vampire infestation, so this season seems like there'll be more vampire slaying and body horror, and less meandering family drama. So yeah, i'll give Season 2 a shot.

Plus, I want to see how the Vampire SWAT Team storyline shakes out.
