Should Something Awful be boycotted in the name of Equality? For a Goon who survives in a fetid basement on Dorito crumbs salvaged from vacuum bags and Slurpee leftovers from Michael Moore's dirty t-shirt, Ten Bux is a lot of money. On the other hand, Ten Bux is nothing to a kaputalist shitlord uncool person, who probably stole it anyway. I propose a more Progressive system, as a type of affirmative action to increase the Diversity of Posters on Something Awful. On D&D especially, the rentier and kaputalist classes are overrepresented, and I worry about the triggering effect this could have on people. Something Awful is a de facto public utility, and it is important to ensure Equal Access to everyone. What do you think?

Ten bucks is far too low. It's hardly a barrier to entry at all, and means that users who have not properly proved their worth to society through productive hard work can post with the same status as others. The Platinum Upgrade provides some limited means of separating those with (slightly) greater value to this world from the other riff-raff, but those below are still permitted to post just the same as anyone else - manually clicking the 'ignore' button for all of these lowlifes, while necessary to enjoy the forums, is such tedious work. If accounts were higher-priced this website could attract a more refined type of customer, rather than the left-wing scum that currently make up our user base.

It's basically insane that legal decisions on this forum are done by people essentially randomly picked by the owners. The forum should be a non-profit entity with elected administrators, real name posting and all moderator decisions enforced by real world police and courts. The idea that people can be prevented from posting without due process of law is just one of the weird quirks of the early years of the Internet, like how the forum used to be drenched in child pornography.
