Witcher 3 has that in a few instances. It keeps track of which dialogue options you chose and then secondary options might change depending in the order you picked them in. One that immediately jumps out is if you don't ask yen how she's feeling right away she'll complain and if you only then ask her how she's doing she'll respond with sarcasm rather than empathy like if you'd chosen that option first.

I do appreciate that at every interaction with Ulysses you can just tell him he's full of poo poo and you've never been to the Divide before.

Max Wilco posted:I've done that, too. They do make mention of Ulysses in all of the DLCs, so I thought maybe there was an explicit reference to something at the end of Honest Hearts that I had just forgotten about. Joshua graham mentions that you're not the courier he was expecting and then he mentions that to get to the Mojave via the north the Legion needed to take the path through Death Valley because of what happened at the Divide cutting off the land route both ncr and legion aimed to control.

The Tenpenny/Ghoul quest is on par with an average quest in New Vegas. Some of the Casino questslines get downright labyrinthian.

The interview with Oin's actor was great but it hammered home just how unfixable the movies are. It doesn't matter how much you edit out to make one four hour film if the main cast got increasingly sidelined as production went on. It's not just a matter of the good stuff getting buried, but of the emotional core getting overruled by the need for action scenes.

I wonder if/when Sage will skip town. Guy has his own support base and connections to the anime industry so he really has little reason to stick around on CA.

That's exactly what did happen with Fallout 3 and 4 with regards to each zone feeling different. Todd Howard has gone on record saying that designers approach him with ideas on certain areas and he signs off on them with a carte blanche. So each person goes to Todd and then back to their own project. The trouble is that the connection only goes to Todd and not to other developers, and Todd seems pretty notorious for not being able to maintain consistency between his dev groups. So while you have a wealth of creativity you lack a consistency of quality and cohesiveness because Todd doesn't want to step on someone's toes but then these groups don't talk to each other. So you end up with one area being really well done right next to another area that was half-assed with no explanation for why they are right next door to one another. It's not as bad in fallout 4 since thy tried to make some interconnected zones with the various raider bases, but the quality swing is still in full effect. Bethesda's design ethos seems like Valve's "work on whatever you want" approach except with even less oversight or quality assurance.

Puppy Time posted:He comments in reaction to things on it. It's nothing super unusual, though, from the bit I watched, so... eh. Marzgurl's stream reading the "apology" was better for entertainment. This stream seems just like something for people who haven't read the thing. He's not doing it with hyperbolic flair. He's just utterly drained by the end of the document, especially anonymous 1's account. It's one thing to read something but hearing it out loud can also put things into a new perspective. In this case it highlights just how awful things got.

The problem is with management not content producers. You treat the cause first not the symptoms, and in this case it's hardly ad if the content producers are symptoms of one man's sociopathy

That whole review was written with the conceit that the show was only popular because fourteen year old Doug jerked off to it and that made it "mature". Sage doesn't like magical girl shows but at least he justifies his dislike for personal reasons and still gives a well thought out explanation for why a show exists and how it found an audience abroad.

She did get involved in the reboot from a a couple years back, though, right? That one actually has a really neat looking art style while I thought the old show just looked pretty bog standard for 90s anime.

Again, I'll repeat: don't do this to content creators. UNless they're mentioned as being negative forces don't start judging them for the poo poo the management pulls. Don't make assumptions.

His star trek crossover with linkara was so bad because Insurrection's development is legitimately fascinating as is its position in the series but Doug just tells Lewis to gently caress off with the nerd poo poo so he can yell some more. Reminder that Doug's favourite next generation movie is Nemesis. Nemesis.

The idea if a crossover isn't bad in the slightest. It comes down to execution. Compare a Doug written crossover to any of Brad, Phelan and Allison's crossovers. There's a sense of genuineness about them because they're just being themselves rather than contorting into a foil for Doug's nonsense. Phelan's Ali Baba video with Harry Partridge is wonderful because of how much they rip into the nonsense of crossover scripts.
