Holy poo poo, the youth of today. Is there some sort of dumbening process going on? I remember certain kids doing poo poo like that back when I was in school so I don't think it is some magic youth of today issue. Now just pretend I included the Aristotle quote about poorly behaved kids.

Yes but the increased money won't go to the poors it will go to the drug companies and then on to the shareholders. Also they will provide a one off bump to pharmac and tout it as them increasing spending on public health then slowly drain the money back out in the next few budgets.

Seems kind of strange he announced in a press conference with accompanying material that he is going after them rather than getting his lawyers to serve them and then making the press release about it. I think this is more of a PR move to get the public on his side rather than a serious attempt at a legal process to shut them down and reclaim the party.

Most of that except for the teacher salary part. They are set from the collective agreement and don't vary from school to school ( there are some exceptions defined within the contract but they won't apply in your scenario). Of course the high decile school can offer a lot of other non salary benefits and support.

Apparently Mike Hosking might be a little bit biased in his reporting on political stories. Although Stephen Joyce says he doesn't think he is so that should settle it. I think a fair number of journalists just spend most of their day browsing Facebook and reddit while waiting for a press release to come their way that they can just put their by-line on.

The crazy thing is I think that having this flag change fail will have more impact on his brand than any of the dodgy poo poo he has been involved in. I can almost imagine Paddy Gower salivating as he declares Key is effectively finished. All due to a stupid loving flag. Of course if it succeeds he will be declared emperor for life.

Binkenstein posted:Holy gently caress, the latest Hosking video on the refugee crisis: http://www.nzherald.co.nz/politics/news/article.cfm?c_id=280&objectid=11507497 David Shearer put a post up on Facebook last night about how in the long term refugees actually contribute a lot more to NZ than we spend on resettling them here. So maybe we should look at the extra money spent on helping these people as an investment which will pay off in the future. Kind of like a rental property in Auckland. Or we can pretend we aren't run by sociopaths for a few minutes and do something to help because it is the right thing to do.
