My mouse is sticking and I don't know why :(

Attempted fixes: Reinstalled mouse driver, switched USB ports, changed mouse, prayed to Satan.

Recent changes: None.

Operating system: Windows 7 64bit.

So my mouse started sticking a couple of weeks ago. Not so bad in desktop but not much fun when aiming and reaction speed is important in a game. I'm thinking USB malfunction but then different ports have the same issue, and my keyboard is also USB but it works just fine. Tried a different, brand new mouse but that didn't fix it (it came with the keyboard but I dont' use it). If anyone has any new ideas, it'd be greatly appreciated.

Have there been any changes to your wireless network or Bluetooth devices? Try disabling your 2.4Ghz WiFi (and any 2.4Ghz cordless phones) and turning of Bluetooth on any nearby devices just for testing, to see if the problem is interference.

Do you have any USB 3 deviced plugged in near the mouse adapter? USB 3 devices can emit noise on the 2.4 GHZ band, effectively jamming your wireless mouse.

Alternatively, you could be running into the same problem I have with my notebook's mouse, where the Unifying adapter's contacts fail to properly connect to the USB port unless I pull it out a millimeter or so. Windows thinks it's connected just fine, but signal reception is spotty to nonexistent when it's in too deep.

You might get some results if you wiggle the adapter a bit, if it's the same problem. And since it's a desktop, you won't have to worry about repeating the procedure if it works.

It might have been the problem. The last couple of days, it kinda fixed itself so maybe it came loose or something. If it happens again, I'll look into any interference issues. There are other USB 3 devices plugged into the back of my PC.

Thank you all for the help :)
