Heads up: a "preview" of the new season (some cuts, dubbed live by the italian voice actors) was shown last Saturday at a comic festival in Italy.

The new season will premiere on Saturday, August 29th at around 22.00 - 23.00 hours italian time on the Italia 1 channel, and it will air every Saturday at that time afterwards.

(Italia 1 is a public access tv channel, I don't think they're showing it anywhere outside Italy but it's extremely easy to find somewhere on the internet to watch it live.)

They've also released the new OP for the italian dub. It's super bad.

It'll start airing in Japan in October and it should be simulcast then.

I'm hearing conflicting reports over whether the Italian airing is at 21:00 or 21:25, so maybe start checking at the top of the hour.

4 episodes starting at 21:35 Ita time.

Telecom has a Lupin production blog here http://www.telecom-anime.com/lupin_blog/

Obviously its mostly a ton of Japanese text but they have some production material photos as well as art etc

Notably they're currently working on episodes in the 22-25 range, and will probably finish the entire series before it airs in Japan. It's gonna look great.

Also the guy responsible for Gurren Lagann episode 4 did episode 13.

The Italian fans I know are very mad about the Italian OP for the show and don't have high hopes for the rest of the dub

Why? What's wrong with Italupin?

Because its not what they wanted, I guess. I mean it does seem a bit... obnoxious. Talking about the OP from http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2015-07-20/new-lupin-iii-series-italian-opening-august-29-premiere-revealed/.90651

The SD channel broadcast of this is dual audio and includes the JP dub track, so if someone's actually recording it it'll be available before it airs in Japan.

Unfortunately who knows if anyone is even recording the SD version lol.

It's not licensed anywhere outside of Italy still afaik.

Also you're entirely right that the art design is absolutely spot on, they did a great job of capturing the feel. Character designs, BGs, etc are all really strong.
