I'm almost certain that total is only for purchases made from the in-game store, stuff purchased from the steam marketplace wouldn't show up there. I'm at $25.60 which came from some stickers (which were almost all resold), operation passes and a music kit on sale because I really got tired of the default theme. Never bought a key yet....

Alright, say you're playing Dust2 and they have an AWPer watching cat, long, tunnel, and doors. Is there any way to win as a terrorist apart from insane luck? I ask because I can do pretty well in competitive, but once the AWPs come out, I'm hosed, and I can't rely on my comedically atrocious pubby teammates who a) don't read chat, b) don't have sound, c) don't actually understand basic gameplay tips like "don't run through smoke" or "you can't run and shoot at the same time" or "pistols exist".

You have to break up the field with smokes, flash yourself in, and/or molly them out of position. You can land them over the walls at cat/long/mid. B is tough but you can bounce a smoke off the tunnel wall that blocks vision for anyone on or next to plat, then flash/molly through that. since it's a corridor you might get spammed down anyway though. You can also juke the awp shot and then shoot him in the face but that's harder.

Alright, that's what I tried, but I have miserable luck in terms of 'getting shot through smoke anyway'. It's so goddamn infuriating to outline and set up a win condition, get potshotted, and have your idiot teammates get ace'd by slowly walking one-by-one down a hallway at an AWPer. It doesn't help that it seems like there's an actual, self-admitted smurf on the enemy team every other match I play.

Something cole reminded me about the other day; when you pop smoke, or pop a flash, and you know that an AWP is holding the angle you just naded, don't push immediately, because a good AWP will time the shot before they bounce to cover and get you. As a solo-queue player, going up against AWPs is difficult, because you really need a combined coordinated push consisting of at least an entry fragger and a support nader to really set up an entry. Doing it solo is possible but much more difficult. For instance, just off the top of my head, if I were doing a 5v5 take of B from tunnels I'd get the mid player flashed and get him out of sorts, then at the same time smoke/flash out of B tuns. At the level you seem to be playing at, it'll be a cold day in hell that a b tunnels AWPer can score more than 1-2 kills against 5 Ts rushing with flashes and smokes. Smokes and weight of numbers is the best chance if you don't AWP. If they have 2b and 1 mid, then smoke off mid and hit catwalk instead, and have one guy go round and backstab the long player who'll run back to A ramp. I'm also of the opinion that generally speaking, against competent AWPers, the best solution is to buy AWPs. As Terrorists on d2 vs 5 M4s, there isn't a great advantage to be had by buying an AWP other than wallbanging mid door and a possible early pick on long. But when CTs buy AWPs, that changes dramatically because the setups for CT AWPing are quite different from CT rifling. For example, you hold corner on long, goose on A site, peek catwalk from CT mid, or play back plat/barrels on B - positions you would not normally take with an M4, because the AK is more likely to come off better at those type of long-range battles. So suddenly when CT starts AWPing, buying AWPs as T becomes not just viable but preferable. AWPs are like herpes. If neither team has them, then it's all fine and dandy. But if one other team picks them up, then the opposite team probably will as well.

Yeah i get killed all the loving time when we agree to "rush B" and everyone backpedals instead of getting the return. Every silver/gold team is needlessly aggressive as CT and often if you e.g. are obviously pushing tunnels you can get some free kills by lurking long A but yeah. Unfortunately being the attacking team requires a lot more coordination and the ELO system expects you to lean forward and carry. I find this is easiest when I don't try to lead by example and play more patiently instead of depending on backup from morons. E: you might try queueing different maps too. People still have voice muted, throw shitfits, have terrible tactical sense, abandon and teamkill. That is the MM experience. It's more like that at higher ranks people are more likely to have initiative of their own. It's been said many times in this thread, but if you're good enough you will rank up. The rank up may not be as soon as you deserve it, and variance is always a factor, but over the long term you will settle towards the rank you should be at. Every horrific team you've ever credited a loss to, you've probably faced an almost or exactly equal number of times for a win. The only common factor is you.
