The backlight on the bottom screen seems a little uneven but its not a big deal. It feels fairly sturdy at least which is nice.

Should I just order online? most large stores get a shipment of new tech stuff every week. so you'll see them on the shelves next week, unless all of them somehow sell out again.

I dont know if the n3ds is worth it for anyone who actually has an old one, because I didn't. If you are getting a 3ds for the first time tho its a good choice imho

does anyone else have somewhat uneven backlighting on the bottom screen? it's not serious, just a little irritating.

I bought the Pokemon games on cartridge, because it's useful to be able to move the cart around or trade between them or whatever. But I bought MH4 digitally and it's worked out pretty well (it's huge, though)

Anything I should know and what games are good to grab for someone looking for a deep gaming experience? SMT4 is fifteen bucks on eshop, go get it.

You need to drag and drop the data from the old SD card to the new one but I can't connect it to my laptop without the adapter. new 3ds supports transferring files from your pc to your 3ds wirelessly so as long as it's formatted and the thing can read it you should be ok

io_burn posted:Is there a system-wide way to take screenshots (Like the iPhone home+power) or is being able to take screenshots a feature that's unique to certain games? I'm willing to suck no more than three dicks and pay a maximum of the balance of my PayPal account ($0.87) for the answer to this question. there is a sort of systemwide way to take screenshots, which is that you go to miiverse while ingame and then when you're making a post you can attach the current screen as a screenshot. but the developer has to let you do this, and can decide not to let you do this if they want, in which case taking them is impossible.

Is there plot? there is a sort of plot, which strings the single-player content together and gives you tutorials of various types. the multiplayer is plotless and just has you kill poo poo to get higher numbers

Tender Bender posted:- It takes a while to get going. I can't speak for 4, but 3U takes a couple hours teaching you the basics of the supplemental stuff like crafting, resource harvesting, and item usage before you get to fight anything interesting. I hadnt played one before 4, but within like half an hour I was doing a hunt in the single-player campaign, fighting a moderately big dinosaur with my mario cat. i think they deliberately put hunts in between tutorials for just that reason -- so you don't get bogged down before doing anything cool.

infraboy posted:I read for a few weeks before release about the new 3ds coming out, I hadn't bought a nintendo item since the first wii, I forgot that there always seems to be a shortage of nintendos latest hardware on release day, so on Wednesday, 5 days after release, I looked at the closest Target and Best Buy stores, definitely all sold out. Today, looked at Target's website after work, found out they had some red ones in stock at the San Rafael store in California, went there straight after work and found they one last red one sitting in the case, found the closest electronics guy and said i'd take it, picked up a copy of Pokemon too, Monster Hunter out of stock, guy at register said they only had 2 copies since release WTF. Of course I just realized the DSi charger works for it, but not my old DS, guess it's off to Target to grab the charger and check for Monster Hunter. I gave up andn just bought it on eshop.
