Would.

I was visiting my parents at Christmas and my dad had a pile of these little pamphlets at his place on the kitchen table. For some reason I found this one particularly hilarious:

(Sorry for lovely quality, I had to take the picture REALLY FAST so he didn't catch me)

My favorite part about this picture is that it's edited from a larger political cartoon, this side was the liberal utopia and the other side of the road on the right was a conservative hellscape full of megachurches and gun stores. :haw:

Not going to post anything because internet detectivery is gross, but he looks like a fairly normal dude. Definitely a nerdy computer science guy, but reasonably fit and well adjusted. Considering they're usually about 3-5 pages, I somehow doubt it. The point is in the gimmick.

I'm on amazon looking at mousepads, and then I see it. The most inexplicable mousepad ever. It claims to be a "Sexy Japanese Anime Girl Naked Body Big Boobs 3D Cartoon Wicked Wrist Rests Mousepad" but that is clearly a dude, with a beard and everything, dressed as a catgirl in lingerie with his butt in the air.

No actual nudity, but probably NSFW anyway: :nws: http://www.amazon.ca/UCMDA-Ergonomic-Japanese-Cartoon-Mousepad/dp/B012MKFDAC/ref=sr_1_23?ie=UTF8&qid=1452464343&sr=8-23&keywords=mouse+pad

Funny picture, right? It's also the most weirdly specific fetish based mousepad I've ever seen. How many people can possibly be in the market for a mousepad featuring an anime dude dressed as a catgirl in lingerie? Who is this for? I don't . . . I can't . . . what?

I had a big argument with a colleague (we're both UX designers) about amazon dash buttons when they launched last year. He thought they were the future of shopping, I thought they were bullshit. (When they were first announced, it was April Fool's Day and I legitimately thought they were amazon being self-aware and poking fun at the horrors of capitalism. Alas.)

He's been suspiciously silent on the matter now that they're floundering and nobody uses them. :smuggo:

Was this book an inspiration for multiple Monty Python sketches?
The book actually did get really popular in English-speaking society at the time for its comedy value; Mark Twain heaped praise on it for its "idiotic genius" and wrote the foreword for all further republishings. It's as close as you can get to 19th century viral media.

So I wouldn't be surprised at all if it were the inspiration for the Hungarian-English phrasebook sketch :v:
