Expected that to end on a 'Your Mom' joke. My home town has some really awful 60s art deco stuff. Dental School. Their lecture theatre.

slinkimalinki posted:I'm really puzzled by you calling this art deco. That's the style they are often labelled as, although it's really more of a bland, generic 1960s style. Real art deco. 1960s blah, often mistakenly labelled as art deco.

Oh hey, there was a Futuro house in a seaside suburb in my city! I think they took it apart and moved it to another city (they were modular). Apparently only 96 of these things were made, so they definitely aren't common. Hmm. Could do with a clean.

Salvador Dali museum in Figueres, designed by... Salvador Dali. I kind of like this one. Salvador Dali museum in Florida, not designed by Dali. Meh.

Sharpest Crayon posted:Ahaha please tell me those are noses on the side of the building. I also appreciate the giant eggs. Wonder if he was hungry when designing that. At least this one seems to have actual space you can use inside. I'm not sure what those things are. How about some loaves of bread to go with your eggs?

Skippy McPants posted:The Winchester House is only a failure in the sense that it was made by a crazy lady, but it's got no place in this thread. It's a work of art, an insane, confusing work of art. Well, it was built to appease a bunch of ghosts, so it has to be insane. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winchester_Mystery_House Stairs that go nowhere. I've had weird dreams about being in buildings like this.
