The game I'm going to be playing is "finish your new book, Fuego", a rousing game wherein I finish my Goddamn book. Also I'm doing a cool Fate pbp campaign.

Once upon a time, I wrote mass combat rules for D&D 4th, which was just a case of using the combat engine that was already there and severely reducing movement speeds and ranges to simulate larger distances. All the various units would otherwise just use the basic monster math for attack damage and stuff. There were a few other minor rules, like attaching a PC to a company and getting some sweet extra abilities based on your role and power source. But honestly, 4e was basically built for this sort of thing.

Not for any particular system, but vaguely D&D-leaning, it's the Backstory Generator which provides a random adventurer's backstory, including their origin point, various information on their likes/dislikes, and sometimes even manages to be kind of really good on rare occasions.
