Shipping to OCS tomorrow, not sure what to expect, can't seem to find any concrete info. Hoping to get a weekend pass this weekend before the class actually starts.

When I was there, a class started every 3 weeks. It's probably longer now, so you might get stuck in their HHC doing random details (like cleaning up the leader's reaction course after a class goes through it).

Oh, when you finally start a class don't be That Guy that gets hammered and shits on the floor of the cadre bathroom, then leaves it for one of the platoon TAC officers to find the next morning. Also, don't be That Guy who cheats on his wife with another candidate and then texts his (soon to be ex) wife death threats while she is talking to the CO about the special kind of shitbird that he was. When you go to your branch course, don't be the 2LT that picks up a GOMR for exceeding his pass mileage and gets caught because he thought drunkenly assaulting a cop was A Good Idea.

Back when BOLC II existed our barracks were right next to the OCS ones. There were two OCS DFACs- a regular one and a fancier one with better food candidates got to use for the last week or two of school. We kept crashing the nice one since our was sort of poo poo.

Hahahaha BOLC II...we did the same thing. The OCS DFAC was probably the nicest one in the immediate area, though as with anything in BOLC II it wasn't hard for literally anywhere else to be better than them at any given thing.

BOLC II cadre and some ROTC units seemed to be the place terminal captains were sent to die. Guys who had a deployment in, didn't want to go to six months of career course, and were looking forward to the good life civilian side.

We had a hard charger that was only at Benning to get to various schools, and a terminally burned out set of NCOs working under him. He loved to yell at us for being unable to do proper pushups, but that shut down right quick when he got sent home from ranger school for failing pushups on the PT test :haw:

Every cadre officer at BOLC II was broke, and every NCO was just about to retire or get medically separated. The Army wasted a lot of my time, but BOLC II was impressively pointless.

It was so impressively pointless that the army actually canned the entire program. That's amazing in and of itself.

Realistically? Drop an IG complaint and hope the investigating officer is bored enough to work on it before it gets buried under a ton of other poo poo. That's if anyone at IG is even listening/monitoring the complaints, but who knows how that'll turn out?

That's probably one of the funniest videos (porn or not) that I've ever seen, and you can thank a weird navy guy I knew for showing it off to everyone in our tent. junior enlisted life doesn't end when the duty day is over, just fyi to all of you officers who have it so bad.

Neither did life as an O, especially writing incident reports for all of the dumb poo poo my soldiers happened to get into. The army manages to be different kinds of terrible at all levels for everyone involved, it's almost magical that an organization can be that bad in so many different ways for so many people at all levels.

How did he pull that off?

I don't remember the exact order of events, but this is pretty close: Rockstar decided destroying an on-post hotel room was a good idea (and then walking away from it without paying), decided getting rocked out of his mind on his prescription narcotics as we were leaving the MP station was An Even Better Idea (especially right before going to see the BC about your article 15). He also opened up his room mate's wall locker and pissed in it, got caught stealing an ipod by our 1SG, and for the coup de grace told our battalion CSM something along the lines of "gently caress your extra duty, I'm leaving". This was after coming back from the substance abuse program where you go to stay for like 4-5 weeks, due to previous alcohol incidents that I don't remember anymore. The post CSM was mad about the hotel room, the battalion CSM was incensed that someone told him to get hosed and waltzed out, and the BC was willing to go straight to his boss with 2 CSMs in pocket saying "this shitbird has to go." Started on a monday or a tuesday, and dude was out of the army by friday.

When I was in basic training at Fort Benning, we did a base-wide run. Every basic training company lined up on the field by building 4, and we putted around like 3-4 miles of Benning near where IOBC, OCS, and airborne schools are. I'm not sure if 3rd ID got drawn into that web of stupid, but since we get trucked over from sand hill I've got no doubts that they either shuttled everyone over, or possibly did their own little run on their side of post.
