Having more controls on the wheel itself is a welcome step - the d-pad and dial positioned where they are looks tremendously useful for adjusting settings without having to take your hands off the wheel. Dropping the shifter from the standard package and charging the same as (or more than) the full G27 is clearly a problem though

Norns posted:It makes perfect sense. FOV is way more important than people realize. When I first started iRacing I had some stupidly massive FOV because I was terrified about not seeing cars alongside me and blindly smashing into them. Turns out with the spotter, mirror, relative position indicator and a little common sense you have a pretty good idea where other cars are and where you need to be to race cleanly even when you can't directly see them.

If you can hear your wheel grinding then you haven't got your speakers/headphones turned up loud enough.

GhostDog posted:Had a look at the upcoming Gooncar races, I'll have to skip (i.e. not buying) the pure ovals, so I'm buying Brands Hatch, New Hampshire, Iowa and the Skip Barber. Also throwing in Mid Ohio and Sebring to get to the 20% discount. gently caress. They got me man, they loving got me. New Hampshire is the best roval ever.

I'd rather a goon spun and crashed his way around the track hilariously than leave because they felt they were a nuisance Also yeah holy cow the Lotus 49 is nuts, opposite lock all over the place, gonna go search for some more classic tracks to smash into walls and trees on.

Big growling sportscars racing on a short little track like Bargabello is awesome, even if I did get caught up in Lap 1 shenanigans.
