France elected a useless and unpopular President who doesn't dare go against Germany, Italian politics are such a perpetual clusterfuck that Italy has never wielded influence and power in proportion to its size, Britain's busy navel gazing and wondering whether it wants anything to do with all this continental palaver, and the NSA's shenanigans have destroyed a lot of American political capital, especially in Berlin. I was surprised to learn that Greeks work more than Germans. From the way the Eurozone crisis is discussed you could be forgiven for thinking that Greeks laze around all day scratching their swarthy hairy bellies while Germans selflessly prop up the continent through hard work and Islamophobia.
