Zenithe posted:Why is everyone relentlessly making fun of a party that has far better policies than most parties? Because there aren't any LNP or ALP faithful here left except for Graic and this screamingllama dude talks a lot of horseshit. Also because the democrats similarly talked a lot of big talk throughout history and ultimately hosed over everyday Australians anyway

Anidav posted:The Democrats are fine, I mean my new job just finished a poll in FNQ and in comparison to people up there saying they should legalize hunting aboriginals after hearing about Billy Gordon. Parties like the Dems, Socialist Alliance or Australian Progressive Party are the least of our problems in the face of extreme racism, poverty, welfare depletion, high education lockouts for poorer classes and so much more. -- Someone who voted for Campbell Newman in 2012

Anidav posted:Yeah my vote in 2012 was a protest vote because Anna Bligh was bonkers. In retrospect it probably should of been for The Greens but you probably know by now I have a capacity to learn from wrong choices or ill-informed opinions which is much better than some other posters who keep coming in, spout the same poo poo and the same wombo-combo mouse trap springs on them every time, killing them for atleast 48 hours. *nuzzles hair while in headlock*

kingcom posted:So the reason slaves were notreally used to construct the pyramids is because most of the time slaves weren't stone masons with years of training an expertise or even apprentices to stone masons. This proved a pretty solid decision when 1000 years later they were still standing. The pyramids didn't really involve complex mathematics or engineering though and they also didn't need really talented stone masons, they just needed vast amounts of physical labor. If you want a cool contemporary civilization that didn't spend all its free time building useless triangle graves in the desert you should look at the babylonians

Splode posted:Holy poo poo this is painfully stupid even for you This is biting criticism from some of the most intellectual posters in the thread, but it's true. Ancient Egyptian theoretical mathematics was rudimentary compared to contemporaneous Babylonians. They didn't use complicated construction methods. They didn't use pulleys or the wheel, they just pulled big slabs of stone up mud slopes. Architecturally speaking they are just big pyramids made from stone and gypsum with a handful of tunnels inside. The surveying techniques used in creating them are impressive but really they are feats of human effort not human design, which explains the slavery misnomer. They are awesome, massive constructions but they are not theoretically complicated by any means.

thatfatkid posted:You seem to have bulk earthworks confused with mining. Just stop you don't know what you are talking about. Congratulations on being a civil engineer who doesn't understand the pyramid is a simple architectural concept then, I guess

Actually, bulk earthworks involves not digging into the ground, furthermore
