Even a lot of "purebred" breeders are terrible. AKC unfortunately doesn't mean much, terrible breeders can register with them. As much as there's a hate on in AI for Pet Island, go in there, post sensibly, be open to criticism, and there's a ton of good advice. A lot of people there know a ton about various breeds, and can often find/help identify decent breeders, or at least point out red flags. The rescue route is a phenomenal one, my dog is a rescue and I don't think I could get lucky enough to "buy" one of her attitude and awesomeness from a breeder.

My two cents on it anyways :)

Seriously this: If you are going to get a dog/cat/ferret/etc. PLEASE adopt.

Meh, she is perfectly content chasing the cats around the house and staring out the windows.

Don't chiropractors specialize in back issues..?

You want a physiotherapist, not a Chiropractor. As far as actual medicine, Chiropractic practices are largely considered pseudoscience outside of some treatment of lower back pain, but in most cases its only temporary relief.

Let me put it in car terms: Do mechanical things EVER fix themselves? No. They only get worse unless properly repaired, no matter how much you manipulate the part. Your skeletal system is largely a mechanical object, and if your chiropractor is saying you are risking a slipped disk, it may be even worse than that.

Blood work is back, and cholesterol is 153/40, Triglycerides are 125, LDL is 90. Glucose is 80.

Just make sure your chiropractor isn't trying to cure a disease or something that isn't you back and you should be able to trust them. But I'm going against the grain of the vocal majority here, and I'm biased: my sister is a chiro, and a good one.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chiropractic_controversy_and_criticism
"Some people believe chiropractic has little more than a placebo effect, but there have been many satisfied patients and many randomized trials of spinal manipulation have verified its effectiveness for the treatment of low back pain"

The ONLY ONLY thing its been shown to possibly help treat is low back pain.

His Chiro thinks he might have a herniated disk. Time to stop going to the Chiropractor and go to an actual specialist.

Bluetooth isn't a requirement just a feature that would be kind of nice to have. I'll have to find somewhere local I can see Blaupunkt in person to see how boring/dim I can make it. Those Nakamishi's are nice, never heard of them until now...$1700 for a head unit though. It's strange because there's a decent selection for older radios that match cars from the 50's and stuff but nothing really for the period between that and the flashy poo poo that's popular now.

Agreed, it seems a company like Blaupunkt could easily take some of their old designs and add in features while having them look the same and completely dominate the market.

I mean Porsche supposedly sells this for $700 which is pretty awesome.
